“The property was very clean and tidy, it has fantastic space and unlike many really could sleep at least 6 people comfortably.”
Lots of bathrooms and en suites make it a great family house. It's been relatively recently renovated so is modern in style, but still has a lot of character and charm. Good hot water, nice towels and bed clothes. Great access to a really good local shop, and two local pubs.
The property is a bit let down by the lack of warmth and creature comforts and a bit of tiredness. I'm not sure how you'd cook for six in this home as the saucepans were small and rather worn out. There was no dryer, so dealing with a lot of kids clothes etc might be tricky. We encountered a bunch of blown bulbs, broken kitchen equipment, and a persistent smell from all the bathrooms which meant we kept the windows open. Cooking in the kitchen was not helped by the lack of lighting; the open plan downstairs is pretty dark even in daytime.
The upstairs lounge is more like a kid's room, the sofas were not really geared towards adults in shape and size, and there's no table or desk. Apart from the dining table, which is very badly lit, there were no tables or desks anywhere, and the WiFi was unsecured, so I wouldn't want to try and work from home whilst staying here.
The listing claim of off-road parking is a bit cheeky - there is parking but it's just the usual public parking outside the house, and it's very much in the road. It's definitely a townhouse and not a cottage.
For dog owners and those with families - the garden is not secure, in at least one place the wall dividing it from next door is only about a foot high. There's a communal garden attached, which does have a beautiful view and is good for kids. Can be a bit noisy out the back, as all of this row of buildings are holiday rentals, including a large bunkhouse a few doors down.
