“An excellent base from which to explore Northumberland, the Durham Dales and maybe further afield.”

A comfortable cottage of character with helpful owners who live adjacent. Close to the fine towns of Hexham & Corbridge. Good value for money.

Tastefully refurbished to provide a cosy retreat, this lovely cottage is accessed via an impressive front door which leads to the open plan living area; the small but well-equipped kitchen has all you need to rustle up a tasty meal and what could be nicer than curling up with a nightcap in front of the woodburning stove.

A staircase leads you up to the first floor with a welcoming bedroom, which boasts panoramic views over the surrounding countryside, and the bathroom provides a well-earned soak at the end of your day.

To the front of your wonderful cottage there is a large, enclosed garden with patio, ideal for enjoying an alfresco meal.

Just a seven minute drive from your cottage takes you to The Rat at Anick, a pub/restaurant, which serves first class food and top-quality ales, and the nearby ancient village of Corbridge has lovely shops and tempting tea rooms.

About the location

HEXHAM

Newcastle 22 miles.

A bustling little market town, Hexham has several antique shops and is popular with tourists visiting nearby Hadrian’s Wall. Beautiful old Hexham Abbey dates back to the 7th century and has a superb Saxon crypt. Shoppers flock to colourful stalls in The Shambles in the Market Place on Tuesday and close by is the 14th century Moot Hall, now an art gallery. The town boasts plenty of open spaces, particularly the Sele next to the abbey, which is now a lovely public park. Nearby is Tyne Green - a riverside country park - and Hexham Race Course is just to the south of the town.
