The property

Harefield is a splendid holiday home based in the quaint town of Rothbury, Northumberland.

It is nestled between the Simonside Hills and Cragside.

Close to your holiday base are a variety of shops, including the Co-op (which houses the post office), four lively pubs and several churches and an art gallery.

In Rothbury you will find the National Trust Cragside house and gardens, which is well worth a visit to view the lovely scenery and woodland walks.

You can end the day with a walk along the River Coquet before choosing a restaurant of your choice.

Alnwick is well known for its Castle and Gardens.

If you enjoy live music the Alnwick Brewery Company and tap room will keep you entertained – as will the home-brewed ales.

The capital of Coquetdale, Rothbury, lies on the north bank of the famous salmon and trout river, the Coquet, and is dominated by the heather clad Simonside Hills. It is an attractive, small market town and its proximity to Northumberland’s National Park ensures excellent local walking. Stone houses, typical of the region, line the town’s steep main streets and there is a Post Office, a good range of shops, and a variety of eateries to take advantage of. With a golf course, public tennis courts and cycle hire close by and a variety of great houses and gardens to explore, including the National Trust site of Cragside, Alnwick Castle (home of the Duke of Northumberland), Wallington Hall and a host of famous castles, this great location has plenty to offer.
