“Comfortable and cosy cottage; nicely clean on arrival and with milk / teabags / biscuits / wine welcome package which we enjoyed.”
Cottage is slightly dated but well-equipped and a good space to be able to live in for the week. The owner was very helpful and accessible (not that we had any issues). The location is great - the kitchen overlooks the beach and entrance to Amble harbour. Parking is easy (outside the house or along the adjacent street) and the area sociable. A funfair was running for a few days opposite, on the green, but was neither particularly noisy nor a problem. The cottage is a great base for walks to the dunes (south) or Warkworth (north, not quite an hour) and for days out to Berwick (walk round the walls, nice lunch), Cragside House (NT property, excellent day out) and Hexham (to visit Housesreads Roman museum). There are plenty of accessible minisupermarkets withoin 10 minutes walk (Co-op, Tesco) and a big Morrisons 5 minutes drive away (on the link road by-passing Amble) where you can also get fuel. Wifi signal is strong (better than ours at home!) and lounge a comfortable living area. Was good value - we enjoyed our stay!
