Ed “Lovely stay at Jenny's Cottage, very comfortable and everything one could need plus a great location to get out and about and see some of the fabulous Northumberland Coast.”
My first time staying here and hope to get back again next year.

Andrea “The downstairs TV didn't work, the radio alarm clock was also broken.”
We reported these upon arrival and we're told the TV would be repaired or replaced - neither of which happened. The toilet dripped constantly and again despite reporting this nothing was done to rectify the issue. From talking to the maintenance man, I get the impression these faults had been reported before and they simply hope guests will put up with it. The place is quite tired e.g. the sofas are old and no longer very comfortable. The dishwasher is old and extremely noisy, don't put it on when you go to bed unless you want to be kept awake!!

Gary “Had a lovely stay at the cottage.”
Very clean, comfortable and cosy. Very friendly and helpful owners. Lovely quiet location, ideal for exploring the coast, car needed unless you're a good walker though. Highly recommend.

Anne “We love going to Jenny's cottage, we have been several times.”
The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. It's in a lovely position for walks, and for driving out to other resorts. The local beaches are amazing. Jenny's cottage isn't suitable for anyone with walking difficulties, it has a spiral staircase. Thank you Sykes and Dorothy, Brian, Catherine and Olly. See you next year!!!

Paul “We had a really good time.”
The suite was well appointed, we had a very relaxing time. the suite is situated in a very quiet area and gives good access to all the major sites in Northumberland. The owners were very pleasant even apologising for the weather which was actually ok and we did all the visits we had planned. Would highly recommend and we would certainly return in the future.

Jack “We had the loveliest stay at Jenny's cottage with zero complaints from either of us about anything.”
Only thing was we did not want to leave the comfy bed on a morning! The lady looking after us was very friendly too. Would highly recommend

Karen “It was a delight to arrive at Jenny Cottage, with all its comforts and charm.”
♡ The cottage was immaculate, and I could literally just move in - everything was there, and in place to help create the perfect stay. From the shear luxury of the divine 4-poster bed, the excellent kitchen facilities to the wow bathroom with its airbath. :) The fresh ground coffee and delicious flapjacks were a thoughtful touch. ☆ The views were breathtaking and utterly captivating - catching the sunrise is a must. ○ As for Northumberland, it was the gift that kept on giving - return I must, for there is still so much wonder to enjoy. A BIG thank you to Catherine for being such a kind and welcoming host - it makes all the difference when solo travelling. May the rest of your year be kind. Best wishes, Karen

Accommodation was great bed was really comfy bath rather high getting in & out but good towels nice & soft , lovely view but could be better if trees / bushes were cut back a bit , great location for this area would definitely stay here again

Well equipped and a lovely place to spend a week regardless of very cold weather. The owner was extremely helpful and there was plenty of advice in the property as to places to visit and where to go for a good evening meal. We certainly will be returning as it was one of the best holidays we have had
- Sandra, April 2024 -

As a lone traveller I felt very relaxed and safe during my stay at the very lovely Jenny’s cottage. The family were on hand and very welcoming and I loved that it is situated on a working agricultural farm. The views across the fields to the sea were gorgeous. Lots of coastal walks on and by magnificent beaches. I will definitely return. Stella
- Stella, August 2023 -

Superb views over the farmland down to the sea at Alnmouth. A great base from which to tour the area.
- Naomi, June 2023 -
Michael “Really comfortable cosy cottage , lovely location very well appointed.”
The owners daughter turned out on a cold dark evening to show us how the extractor above the hob worked - to our embarrassment!! Each morning after we had light snow she was out putting sand on the paths for our safety We would definitely want to return - we had a great relaxing holiday ideal for on strenuous walks and enjoying the wildlife in the beautiful countryside.
- Michael, March 2023 -
Gillian “An absolute gem of a cottage.”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jenny's Cottage. The cottage is absolutely perfect in every way. Beautifully appointed, cosy, immaculate and extremely comfortable. We loved the extensive views over countryside and out to sea. The jacuzzi bath is a real luxury and very welcome after a day out walking. The owners are so hospitable and on hand to ensure you enjoy every minute of your stay. There is so much to see and do in the surrounding are. We had an absolutely wonderful stay and will definitely be returning.
- Gillian, February 2023 -
Frances “A lovely upside down style of cottage to take advantage of the wonderful view out to sea.”
A well planned out space. Perfect for a couple, with beautiful king-sized bed and large spa bath. I was on my own but felt very safe and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to single travellers.

Ann “It's my second time staying at this lovely property, and I enjoyed the week very much - the cottage is very cosy and comfortable with a beautiful view, the location is very peaceful and the owner is very friendly and helpful.”
I am sure I will be back! Just one comment - the description of the facilities on the Sykes listing needs some items updating - there is now a freezer compartment to the new fridge; and the TV is a Smart TV with access to many other providers like Netflix and Amazon Prime, not just live tv,
- Ann, November 2022 -
Anne “Jenny 's cottage was wonderful, perfect for our needs.”
Top quality equipment and decor. And the owners were extremely helpful and friendly. Plus we had a sea view, albeit in the distance, but a beautiful view. We will definitely consider returning. Thank you.
- Anne, October 2022 -
Christopher “We had an absolutely delightful week at Jenny's Cottage.”
The property is beautiful, furnished and equipped to a high quality standard, with a fabulous view (especially through sunset) of Almouth and the sea from the (first-floor) sitting-room. There were lovely coastal waks, miles of unspoiled virtually empty beaches, and country walks only a relatively short car ride away - and countless places on interest slightly further afield - we especially enjoyed the castles, lovely pubs, and great "local" beer! Dorothy, the proprietor, and her team were very friendly and helpful. A great find!
- Christopher, July 2022 -
Kathleen “Everything was fine including the weather, lovely break meeting my daughters and family one from Preston ,the others from Melbourne .”
We enjoyed all the delights of the area, the wildlife, the castles ,the resorts, the paddle boarding ,the food.
- Kathleen, July 2022 -
Peter “Splendid, clean, comfortable, well-equipped cottage with amazing views.”
Very helpful, friendly owners. Re other comments: we had no difficulty with bath nor stairs (in our 70s), but did feel rather indulgent running so much hot water for a post walk bath! Another positive is fast wifi and smart tv. Excellently located for exploring the area. The only negative is the broken up tarmac drive to the properties. As the car is definitely needed every day, it is not ideal!
- Peter, June 2022 -
Jackie “What a great find !”
!! Everything was just perfect and Dorothy and Brian were just the loveliest people. Had a great holiday and would highly recommend.
- Jackie, June 2022 -
Louis “We enjoyed our stay at the cottage lovely place to enjoy the surroundings thanks”
- Louis, April 2022 -
Moira “Very comfortable holiday cottage.”
Everything on hand for a comfortable stay. Lovely views from the upstairs lounge window. The owners helpful and friendly. Although the bath is a little over the top. Fortunately I’m quite tall, someone under 5’4” or not very agile would probably have some difficulty getting in and out, even for a shower! Someone with limited mobility would probably find the staircase a challenged too.
- Moira, March 2022 -
Sandra “Very good cottage , with four poster bed , jacuzzi etc.”
Quiet location , handy for all places.
- Sandra, March 2022 -
Christopher “Loved the property and the location.”

Ann “The cottage is the perfect cosy retreat with a wonderful view.”
It both inspired me to get out and about, and was a warm and relaxing place to return to at the end of the day. The bath is the biggest I have ever seen (and the hot water is endless) and the bed is the best I've slept in at any holiday cottage - besides the fact it is a beautiful four poster, it's extremely comfortable, the pillows were just right and the sheets were excellent quality. There is also a very comfy sofa to lie on and enjoy your view! The location is very peaceful, but also well-connected - Alnwick is 10 minutes away and can provide most needs, and Alnmouth is less than 10 minutes the other way and is a lovely little village with a great deli and a marvellous beach. The owners are on hand if you need anything, and are very helpful. Definitely one to return to!
- Ann, October 2020 -
Gerard “Owners of the cottage provided good information on where to eat and what to do, of which there is much in the area.”
Alnwick Castle Gardens a must, if you haven’t been.
- Gerard, October 2020 -
Frederick “We felt very secure with the 'Covid' precautions at the property and were pleased with the steps taken by the owner.”
The cottage was exactly as specified in the advert and the view out to sea, albeit a good mile from the cottage, was stunning. We would be happy to return to Jenny's Cottage in the future as we only touched the surface of Northumberland in our week away. We had no problem finding excellent restaurants.....recommended by the owner. A big Thankyou !!
- Frederick, October 2020 -

Dorothy “This accommodation is a lovely comfortable cottage with a very well equipped kitchen.”
There are lots of places to visit close by. But due to Covid 19 it is necessary to remember to book in advance. But then this also guaranteed no crowds, very important in these unusual times. An Absolutely Brilliant Holiday.
- Dorothy, August 2020 -

Welcoming hosts, and we had everything we needed for a week’s holiday. A good base for exploring Northumberland.
- Anne, August 2020 -
Tracy “Extremely comfortable and warm cottage.”
It is on a farm so the road in is not great but the view is breathtaking and Catherine and Dorothy were extremely friendly. Only minor point is that there was no oven gloves, but we will come again. A very enjoyable stay.
- Tracy, March 2020 -

Gwenneth “The accommodation in Jenny's Cottage is very comfortable.”
The four-poster bed was lovely and the layout of the living area excellent. We were so contented that we stayed in a couple of days, but the attractions in the area are superb which we also enjoyed. A boat trip from Seahouses to the Farne Islands was a highlight, as was a visit to Alnwick Castle Garden. There's so much more to see.
- Gwenneth, September 2019 -

Great views. Well appointed. Really needed the car as a bit far out of Alnmouth and route in is on a busy country road without pavements.
- Anne, July 2019 -

Very enjoyable stay.
- David, December 2018 -
Sian “I really enjoyed my stay at Jenny’s Cottage.”
Dorothy and her husband were really friendly and brought me a pint of milk. The property was warm and welcoming so I instantly felt settled. The property itself isn’t in Alnmouth. This wasn’t an issue as it is very near the station (also not in Alnmouth) but maybe helpful to list it as being in Bilton. The front door stuck a bit but again that’s a very minor quibble. The facilities were really good (supremely comfy 4-poster bed, jacuzzi bath) and the views, especially from the living room, were to die for.
- Sian, November 2018 -

It nearly put us off booking, but in fact it had very good free wifi. Owners smashing friendly people, nothing too much trouble. We loved the cottage. It would be nice to have a breadboard as well as a chopping board. Also a small measuring jug.
