“Lovely decor and attention to detail but the standard was let down by the need for the bathroom tiling/mastic requiring a good scrub to remove the black mould.”
Ditto at kitchen sink. It’s a shame with all the nice tiles/fittings that it’s not been maintained. The heater in the bedroom was broken with small convector heater provided as replacement. From the photos I was expecting a lovely view, but once inside the cottage, there is no view and it felt a little dark and enclosed.
Guests need to be made aware that the cottage is in the middle of a field, accessed via a rough 400m track, via a broken gate which is quite hard to open. Parking is off road but very tight (drive in, reverse out). Dogs are welcome and the cottage is dog friendly, but the garden is not dog secure (with sheep and cats this is a challenge and again, should be made clear in the advertisement). Whilst we had lovely weather, door straight in to carpeted lounge would be a challenge with two wet muddy dogs/humans.
Positives were the super comfy bed, nice bed linen and good comms from the owner on access.
We regularly stay at cottages all over the country and felt this one was a little overpriced in comparison.
