Hazel “Overall we had a lovely stay at Barmoor, it’s situated in a picturesque village and is very quiet and peaceful, just what we wanted.”
Facilities for our dog were very good with the enclosed garden and nearby walks. The accommodation is very well equipped but the only problem we had was the DVD player didn’t work in that there was no connection cable to the TV, the only cable was the power cable, so we couldn’t use this facility which was a shame as we had brought our own DVDs to watch. (We seem to be jinxed re Sykes Cottages with DVD players, this is the third one whereby we couldn’t use it, the last two players were advertised but were not in the property) We would definitely stay at Barmoor again if we were in that area of Northumberland. It has a lovely beach well within walking distance and is a good base for the surrounding areas attractions.

About the location
EMBLETON
Craster 3 miles; Beadnell 4 miles; Alnwick 7 miles.
The pretty village of Embleton is ideally placed for exploring one of the most attractive stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline. A beautiful grassy path runs from the village to neighbouring Craster, alongside the sea and past Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. Embleton itself has a village pub and a local hotel, and there is an excellent range of amenities in nearby Alnwick. The gardens at nearby Howick Hall are open during the summer and are noted for their beauty, whilst Alnwick Castle and Garden are a 'must-see' when visiting the area. For the keen golfer, Dunstanburgh Links Course is about 1 mile away - just one of several excellent courses in the vicinity.
