    “Stayed at Starwood lodge recently.”

    As previous comments suggested, this has got the potential to be an awesome retreat. The lodge and grounds are ideal and private ideal for dogs, although our dog escaped through a gap near the old hot tub lid!(if its old and broken it doesn't need to be there) I could imagine it being lovely in the summer months but as it was colder we stayed inside more, tbf it was the amazing looking tv and sound set up along with the oven and fancy shower that first attracted me. Sadly none of those things ...

The lodge and grounds are ideal and private ideal for dogs, although our dog escaped through a gap near the old hot tub lid!(if its old and broken it doesn't need to be there) I could imagine it being lovely in the summer months but as it was colder we stayed inside more, tbf it was the amazing looking tv and sound set up along with the oven and fancy shower that first attracted me. Sadly none of those things worked properly, the oven worked but needed a good deep clean(the rest of the lodge could also do with a good clean) we found hair bobbles lolly pops in vases, malteasers and popcorn from previous guests this could do with addressing with the cleaning team. Both toilets needed fixing after every flush (it's not an expensive fix) Hot tub was only cleaned once in our 5 night stay and that was the last day when they did a full empty and re-fill leaving it cold after that for our last night. I'm not sure what the guidelines are but I thought the hot tub would be inspected every few days or so. With all that said, these could be looked at as minor issues and easy fixes, I would definitely love to stay at this lodge again But I would like to see some improvements made. I don't normally do reviews but my suggestions would be. If somethings broke fix it If something is redundant remove it.

Starwood is a delightful, single-storey, wooden lodge hidden away in Felmoor, near the charming village of Felton in Northumberland.

This beautiful, authentic pine-build sleeps four people in two rooms and offers off-road parking for up to two cars making it a perfect rustic escape for both families and friends, along with up to two pets.

Walk into a spacious open-plan living space to find a seating area with a comfortable, reclining sofa so you can kick your feet up as you immerse yourself into a movie on the Smart TV.

The designated chef will find everything they need for their culinary exploits in the fully-equipped kitchen, and their audience can keep them company around the large dining table.

There’s also a small, separate seating area for those who need to finish off some work before the fun begins.

During warmer months, make use of the vast garden, surrounded by woodland.

Then when the evening winds down, pour yourself a glass of wine and sink into the warmth of the hot tub.

The delightful village of Felton is set in rural Northumberland, between Morpeth to the south and Alnwick to the north. The village has a shop with a post office, coffee shop, pub and restaurant, and is just 10 miles from Alnwick, with its Castle and now famous Garden, which features Europe's largest cascading water feature, an enormous tree house, a rose garden and an ornamental walled garden. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the "Harry Potter" films!
