“I have no issue with Northumbria Cottages, my issues are with the owners of the property.”
The tv in the lounge was not working properly & the tv in the master bedroom was not working at all. I rang the owners & they came up the following day. Maureen tried to fix the tv in the bedroom, then stating the tv had been dropped, I got the feeling she was insinuating that I had dropped the tv, I had NOT! I had my elderly dog with me, I had one sofa covered with 3 clean throws in case she jumped up on the sofa when I wasn’t there, even though all the furniture was too high for her to jump on. I was told by Maureen that I should not be leaving the dog in the apartment alone. I told her it’s impossible for me to take her everywhere with me. She told me in no uncertain circumstances that I should be locking my dog in the kitchen. I never lock my dog in any room. She was cruelly thrown from a vehicle Christmas Eve 12 years ago, malnourished, riddled with mange, completely bald on her underside & pronounced teats. It took me 12 months to correct her skin & 18 months for her to happily get into a car. I work 2 jobs, full time & part time, our holidays together are precious to me & enrich my life. My stay was ruined by her attitude towards me. Will I paying them again with my hard earned cash, NEVER.
Thank you for your feedback, which is always welcome as this prepares us for our next guests and gives us the opportunity to respond. We would like to address the comment in relation to leaving your dog in the property, whilst we understand the concerns you had about your dog being old and frightened due the past misuse it had suffered and unable to take with you everywhere, the policy of leaving your pet unattended in our property is that of Northumbria Coast & Country Cottages and not the homeowner. In the years of letting with them this has been included in the T&C’s you accept at the time of booking as per text:- 9.5 Pet rules: You must not allow pets on beds or on furniture within the Property. Pets must not be left alone in the Property (which include the garden and any outside areas) at any time. Northumberland is one of the most dog friendly counties in the country, one of the reasons we have so many repeat guests with dogs. Your feedback about the TV has concerned us, as at no point did I accuse or insinuate this had been broken by you and can only apologise that you picked our conversation up like this, it was never intended.
