    “Book our stay for 2 main reasons 1.”

    Close proximity to the sea - perfect could hear the waves at night and enjoyed lots of beach walks. 2. An opportunity to cosy up in front of a log burner- informed shortly before departure that log burner was out of order, very disappointed. Property was spacious and functional. Found Sykes customer service difficult to navigate.

    Thank you for your positive review to our house at Hauxley. We can only apologise for the log burner. During routine maintenance it was found the chimney had structural damage. Sykes was informed as soon as we found out the fire was not to be used and asked to inform all guests who had booked a stay with us. Workmen have been organised to fix the chimney when the house is empty. We hope you enjoyed your stay in Northumberland overall. Property Owner

Situated just a few meters away from the beach, 24 Hauxley Links is a delightful three-bedroom stone-cottage nestled in the attractive hamlet of Low Hauxley.

Boasting sea-views and charming characteristics, this stylish cottage is the ideal base for a Northumberland adventure with friends and family.

As you enter this gorgeous property, you’ll be greeted by a beautifully presented kitchen/diner, home to a wide range of high-quality appliances where you can cook up a storm before gathering around the dining table to enjoy a home-cooked meal with your loved ones.

After an adventure-filled day exploring the local area be sure to make the most of the spacious lounge where you can play a board game with the kids before sinking into the sofas and cosying up in front of the woodburning stove.

Grab a good book and enjoy some peace and quiet in the sun room, boasting stunning views of the surrounding countryside or why not grab a glass of wine and head out into the patio area; the perfect spot to toast to your holiday on a wonderful summers evening.

Downstairs you’ll also find a large, stylish wet room, where you can freshen up after a day hiking or cycling along the Northumberland Coast.

Continue upstairs and you’ll find three attractive bedrooms; one twin bedroom with views out to the exterior woodland area, one double bedroom and a master bedroom boasting a king-size bed and breathtaking coastal views.

If you can tear yourself away from the stunning views, then why not indulge yourself with a relaxing bubble bath in the upstairs bathroom, which services all three bedrooms.

This attractive abode is situated just a couple of miles south of Amble, commonly known as “the friendliest port”, where you can pick up some local delicacies from the store or enjoy a spot of fish and chips or an evening meal with loved ones.

You’ll find an array of different activities to get involved in at Amble, from boat trips and watersports to sailing and fishing or perhaps an afternoon spent cycling along the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Slightly further afield you’ll find some stunning beaches including Druridge Bay, offering miles of golden sand and a beautiful reservoir to explore.

Other attractions worth visiting include the historic site of Warworth Castle, standing proudly on the hilltop above the River Coquet as well as Howick Hall and Gardens, boasting over 65 acres of beautiful gardens and the delightful Earl Grey Tea House where you can enjoy a bite to eat and a cup of Early Grey Tea.

About the location

AMBLE

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
