“Lovely comfortable cottage with all the amenities needed only complaint I would have was it took a couple of days to work out the hob.”

I have a gas cooker so really struggled. Found instructions for everything but the cooker hob.

“It is a lovely property.”

Be aware that the kitchen is on the top floor. With elderly relatives and small children it was a challenge. Ideally we should have asked for child gates. The rooms are very spacious. The downstairs room could benefit from a couple of chairs and small table, rather than sitting on the bed. Enough room for them. The hot tub was very nice and we were lucky with weather. Could do with a washing line outside especially for the swim wear. The property is well equipped. However, we only had 5 dining chairs, when we had 6 adults and 2 children. A couple of high chairs would have been ideal. Not sure if this was an option. The bathrooms are very spacious and done to a high quality. The little box

“Booked this cottage for 3 days.”

This cottage had no WiFi. Owners knew it was not working before we arrived but did not inform us. The router was not connected and maintenance could not repair. Consequently the smart tv was not available due to no internet connection. We would not have booked this property had we known there was no internet connection. We have had no contact from either Sykes Cottages or the owners since we informed them, during our stay, of our complaint. Very poor service.

“The Old Mill is a beautiful holiday house.”

It was exceptionally clean and furnished to a very high standard. Located in a beautiful setting. Northumberland is a beautiful county and we will definitely return again (this was our third visit!) and would love to stay in the same property.

We did not expect this so it was a big bonus. Beds extremely comfortable which is always important. The separate TV room on the middle floor was much appreciated by our son too.

It has been converted into comfortable and spacious accommodation benefiting from an open fire, four poster bed, Wi-Fi and private parking.

It is located in the hamlet of Lucker and Bamburgh and the Northumberland Coast is just 3 miles away.

Next door is The Apple Inn which serves food and ales most days.

Old Mill is next door to Millstone and can create an interlinked property accommodating 11 guests.

Lucker is a picturesque hamlet which has an established Pub – The Apple Inn and Italian Pizzeria – The Apple Core.
