Resting in Milbourne, near the historic village of Ponteland in Northumberland, lies this single-storey, family-friendly cottage, The Bungalow.

Arriving at The Bungalow, take in its stunning exterior, completed with a contemporary cladding to the front, whilst traditionally presented to the rear, which is where you’ll find the private, south facing and peaceful garden; perch up a chair on the decking, where the sun can follow you all day long, gazing towards the nearby woodlands with a coffee in hand.

Entering the kitchen/diner, make use of the breakfast bar whilst preparing brunch, refresh your clothes after a day of exploration, or simply cater to your group’s culinary needs.

To dine as a family, venture into the living/dining room, and be welcomed by stylish furnishings, a wall mounted TV, and a gas effect log burner, completing the inviting feel.

As dusk approaches, retreat to the spacious bedrooms, offering flexible sleeping arrangements across a king-size with en-suite WC, and a triple bunk room; the cottage is complete with a main shower room, finished to a sleek standard with patterned tiles and contemporary fixtures.

Once you’re ready to explore the nearby village, be welcomed by an array of restaurants, cafes, convenience stores, and attractions, including Ponteland golf club, Ristorante Fratelli, and the Blackbird Inn as well as the Tomahawk Steakhouse which is only a 5 minute drive away. There is also Close House Golf Club and Matfen Hall which has three 9 hole golf course and an 18 hole golf course to enjoy.

The county is also home to a wealth of landmarks and must-see hotspots, including Kirkley Hall Zoological Gardens, the stunning Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens, and Laing Art Gallery, showcasing a range of artistic exhibitions and events.

If hiking is your thing, head to Plessey Woods Country Park and its 100-acres of woodlands, Shafthoe Craggs, Kielder Forest, Northumberlandia and its landscape sculpture, or Path Head Water Mill, for a relaxing stroll.

Newcastle 6 miles; Morpeth 11 miles; Hexham 20 miles; Newcastle airport 2 miles.

Ponteland is a historic village set on the river Pont with much modern development providing shops and restaurants, and a traditional village pub. There is also a great leisure centre to enjoy with plenty of activities for the family to enjoy. The Metro centre is only 7 miles away, Hadrians Wall can be accessed from various places nearby, and the historic towns of Morpeth, Hexham and Corbridge are all just a short drive away. No matter what your interests there should be something to satisfy your needs in the surrounding area. The city of Newcastle can be accessed either by car or by public transport, and with a history dating back over 200 years, there is much to see and do in this vibrant, lively location. Excellent shopping, top-class restaurants and amazing night life are all to be enjoyed, along with a variety of museums and galleries.
