“We have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years (first time in a Sykes cottage) and there has always been local information in the cottage - walks, pubs, eateries, dog friendly beaches etc.”
These are usually provided by previous guests in a 'visitors book'.
Also useful phone numbers like a local GP, vet, chemist etc.
The TV in the cottage had a BT TV package but we could not use it, it was not set up, what's the point ? Though the cottage had wifi there were no password details ?
There were no instructions for TV, heating, microwave.
The cottage could also do with a bit of TLC, loose tread in doorway, bare patches on the wall, the upstairs bedroom had lots of cobwebs on the light and beams and the bedside lampshade was broken. The window at the top of the stairs definitely needs a blind, (previous visitors have mentioned this) especially as the only bathroom is downstairs. Also the garden needs some tidying.
Having said all this, all of which are easily fixable, the cottage was cosy, comfy beds, in a nice village and good for the dogs.
