“Site itself is not pretty (despite being listed as such), it is very tired & in need of a tidy and brightening up.”

The pot holes in the drive also need attention. The lodge itself was comfy, with good clean kitchen, good working shower and comfortable bed. However, the general cleanliness let it down and I felt I had booked prior to the season's 'spring clean'. The dust and filth under and behind the sofa was awful (I only found this as a dog toy got lost under the sofa), this obviously hadn't been swept/cleaned in a long time ! All the windows were filthy, with cobwebs in between the two units (they are also a weird design as they open inwards, so beware as they get in the way a lot). Decking hadn't been swept, outside table was dirty. All these things let it down as the park is in a great location to visit all the great areas in Northumberland like Bamburgh, Embleton, Alnmouth, Whitley Bay with very little travel time. Despite being a dog friendly lodge, there was no information about local dog walks or walks from the park. No welcome pack, not even a pint of milk. These little things (& a good thorough clean) would have made all the difference.
