    “The house is lovely and well equipped and the bottle of wine and lovely cake were a nice touch.”

    The only thing I would say is that the mattress bed in the main bedroom is quite hard and not that comfortable, If owners elect to provide cleaning equipment as they’d like the property left in a clean condition then perhaps a dustpan and brush would be nice as well as the broom and vacuum cleaner. Also there were no cleaning cloths to use apart from in the kitchen. Extra loo rolls for those staying longer than a couple of nights would also be good. None of this really detracted from the ...

The cherry on the cake for us was the stunning display of the Northern lights on Thursday.

The property

A magnificent, 18th century, semi-detached Flemish red brick barn conversion situated in unspoilt open countryside, just 10 minutes' walk from the centre of the rural village of Longframlington.

The historic town of Alnwick, with its impressive castle and garden, lies just 6 miles to the north and is well worth a visit.

With the spectacular National Park also within easy reach, this is an ideal base for exploring Northumberland!
