“Nice property in a good location.”

Also well equipped. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Welcome gift appreciated. We did have some issues with property. Main one was sewage type smell in many parts of the property. Sign in utility indicates owners know there is a problem. Smell more than just in utility room. When arrived there was a live worm in toilet downstairs which was a bit off putting. Looked online I think this indicates main sewer pipe cracked. Upstairs bedroom needs to have a larger bed. Double too small for room. Also ...

Thank you for your feedback. We always value the suggestions and comments of our guests. We were really pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at Keildon and found the accommodation well equipped and in a good location. We were surprised to hear about your experience with the smell. We stayed there ourselves for three days arriving the day after you left and did not notice it anywhere in the property at all. As indicated, it is only intermittent and really very slight and in our experience restricted to the utility room which can be shut off from the rest of the property. We can only assume your experience was a one-off but of course we will feed your information back to our plumber. We were also surprised to hear you found the bed in the master bedroom to be too small. It’s a king size bed which is unusually large for a holiday let and we would hope is a good size for our guests. Perhaps this is more a reflection of the size of the master bedroom which is extremely large. We find the spaciousness lends this space a calming atmosphere away from the family living area downstairs. The property is not advertised as having its own dedicated parking space. However, The Viking complex has a large communal parking area and we have never known guests to struggle to find a space. For those rare occasions when a space may not be available, we pay for an annual parking pass giving guests free parking for the main car park in Seahouses which is just opposite. This parking pass also gives guests free parking at other pay and display car parks run by Northumberland County Council, eg Beadnell, Bamburgh, Holy Island and Craster. Property Owner
